The Erawan Story

The roots of Erawan interactive stretch back to late 1991, when the forerunner company to Erawan, PAC Graphics Ltd, was founded in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This fledgling start-up was part funded by an innovation grant from the local government authority.

The company consisted of two part-time staff working nights and weekends, with one full-time administrator. The original equipment inventory read:

The company's client base was formed within the local University community, with lots of editorial work, presentation graphics, and some posters. This was at a time when most computer users were laboring pre- Windows 95, and WYSIWYG word processors were a dream for PC (Dos) users. Indeed, locally within the campus of Birmingham University, the de facto word processor, Chi-Writer, was more like one of today's text editors (such as notepad or text edit) than a tool for creating attractive printed documents. The dawn of desktop publishing (DTP) was about to change the workflow of designers and the expectations of customers.

Our use of QuarkXpress and Illustrator gave us a quantum leap in terms of our workflow. We have retained many of these skills today in terms of use of these packages, which have grown from the early incarnations that grounded us in their usage for eg., version 2.11 (Quark) to 7, and from (version "88") to CS3 in the case of Adobe Illustrator.

ERAWAN INTERACTIVE is a print, graphic design & publishing company founded with the aim of introducing innovation, high quality production, and excellence in design and service to the print and optical disc manufacturing businesses in Thailand. Through key acquisitions of promising local companies, investment, modernization, and training, we have created a company that is committed to excellence in its field.

In the eight-year development process to date, we taken many of the ideas, principles of openness and transparency, and expertise from our UK business and merged it with the wealth of creative and technical talents available here in Thailand.

Our digital publishing approach reflects how reflects our commitment to the ongoing advancements in digital printing, offset printing, large format printing, and the highest quality CD and DVD disc replication, married our proven ability to originate and disseminate designs and editorial to carefully selected target audiences. We also offer complete services for local and visiting exhibitors looking to give the best possible creative impression at their trade show. We design and build displays of all types, utilizing or expertise in large format printing to particularly good effect.

Technology Driven

Essential to our success is continual investment in technology and personnel. Through our acquisitions and upgrades we own superb quality printing and finishing equipment, fully integrated Macintosh and Windows networks and all the application software packages required to support our clients.

We recently integrated NUR macroprinting technology to our large format production system at our production plant in Chaochengsao (60 km from our Bangkok office).

Our clients range from freelance designers, agencies, and SMEs, to multinational corporations both here in Thailand, throughout the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. Some are graphics professionals looking for a reliable disk-to-print bureau while others rely on us to recommend solutions for their display requirements, source and manipulate images, originate all the artwork and produce the final product, ready to exhibit. Erawan employs 5 staff in its Bangkok studio office and 35 at its production plant as of July 2007.
